I've been trying it out the past couple of days and its been moderately amusing thus far. Its no guildwars by far, but I can't let my preconceptions spoil it for me. There is grind, though just leveling you can basically just do quests, albeit lots are fairly simple fetch ones. Just did tried out a bit of the crafting/gathering today, and thats pure, unmitigated grind, not actually necessary though, so I'm putting that off for awhile.
Its also buggy, and some features haven't been implemented yet, but its in open beta, so theres only so much you can expect, and several patches have apparently already come out (one of them yesterday) to deal with some issues. I've also managed to find a friendly guild, and people you meet are pretty good generally too, as their hasn't been much time for a dedicated asshole class to develop, though I'm sure it will eventually. I'm definitely going to play a bit more at least, though I'm shying away from the crarting atm, and I suggest the same to anyone who wants to avoid the REALLY boring grind. All in all, BY FAR better than the couple of other free mmos I've tried, and its not even out of beta yet.

RoM was alright good to get the guildies playing a game other than guild wars. Shows for a good future in gaming together
RoMs okay atm its flaws have the excuse of it being in beta. But i simply dnt enjoy games like that when u go from quest to quest...
but some aspects of it are fun such as mounts having a house even marriage.
It has potential but atm its nothing gr8. and the Item shop really pisses me off. Big time!

looks somewhat interesting, but ive had a bad experience with all free games and usually delete them in under 3 hours.
i guess i have one question before downloading:
does the game screen take up the entire monitor or are there advertisements or anything on the side as you play? i cant stand games that dont have a full screen viewing mode

Its full screen as the default setting, and there aren't any ads of any kind at this time. There is an item shop, though I think it hasn't been implemented in the U.S. servers yet; it hadn't been a few days ago at any rate. Aside from respecs though, I seem to remember reading that there was nothing in the item shop that gave anyone a statistical advantage over anyone who just used normal gameplay, its supposed to just be convenience/cosmetics.

After getting to level 10, I tried to get a Rogue/Mage.
Then I've found out you have to level secondary profession again. So you might have a 10/1 Rogue/Mage, but after change, to get better skills, it's 1/10 Rogue. But you can't use skills from your secondary profession if it's higher than primary.
So I have to grind that again. And I can't use items, as I have too low level.
Guild Wars has done the dual class system better. City of Heroes has done the dual-skillset system better. Same with Dungeon Runners.
Also, the only game that has a working Main Level/Job Level XX/YY experience system is Ragnarok Online.
But RoM is worse than every one of those games. Not worthy playing or buying items in.

Bone chill + Vampiric Arrows = Can kill anything
Seriously stand behind a rock unleash these 2 skills and anything would die seeing as its instant cast and arrows can be shot at the same time i brought down a lvl 22 at lvl 16 with this tech just kept running around him til his spells wore off! <3 <3
I would reccommend checking out this game it is free afterall and it is the download time

I actually stopped playing this when I got to around 20/20, just kept on being more of the same, and all of my guildies who were getting high levels said that it actually just got worse, and that there was no end game content at all. I uninstalled about a week and a half ago.

I tried it one week ago & I am lvl27 Knight/Priest. I find it quite nice & the people in the guild I am are nice.
Someone said in a previous post that the higher you go more boring it is. Is it really true?

Not as true nowadays as it was then, but...
Well, some people enjoy it.

Sounds no different than Perfect World which I have been playing since March. All the free to plays have items shop there is no avoiding it. They are also grind games, as they are your typical rpg. If your not a WoW or similiar type fan, you will not be happy.

Devs basically used the beta testers find out the best way to get cash from their customers. While they would never admit it you'd easily be able to pick up on it if you were in closed beta. Devs promised the cash shop wouldn't give any huge advantages to those who didn't use it, which was a colossal lie two months into open beta. Dev team is extremely slow on fixing major issues and would rather spend their time making temporary content that ensures more cash flow coming their way.
Greedy dev team aside if I were to compare it to Guild Wars...
Imagine if you couldn't get rare weapons anywhere besides elite missions. I'm not just talking about the skins, I mean the mods that you put onto the weapons/armor/off-hand. Then imagine if you had to pay a fee with cash to remove the mods, then another fee to attach them to weapons, and imagine having to do that with every single piece of equipment. If you didn't want to pay the fee you get to use 1/1 vamp, or +10 health on your weapons while those who pay the fee get 10/1 vamp and +100 health.

I'm sure it would be a great game if it wasn't so glitchy and hard to download for a good deal of it's potential player base.
But....it has an item shop so it's doomed to become a crappy game eventually.
new thought
RoM is not a F2P game, it simply has the longest demo period.
